O'Connor Corporation has been providing Pacific Gas and Electric Company's Brayton Point facility with a variety of services for many years and is known for supporting successful outages and an on time return to service. In addition to upgrades, modifications and scheduled maintenance, O'Connor Corporations scope has included:
- Replacement of 18 reheat elements
- Repairs and modifications to precipitators and associate duct work
- Repairs to heater seals
- Modification to condenser piping
Currently O'Connor Corporation is working hand in hand with their sister company O'Connor Constructors to install a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system on unit #3. While O'Connor Constructors is providing foundations for the 212 foot steel tower, O'Connor Corporation is installing the elaborate technology designed to reduce NOX emissions. The SCR must be fit in the path of the gas, between the boilers and the stacks. This requires relocating existing duct work, structural steel, conduit and electrical services all within a much confided area.
