The primary function of this Bucksport, ME cogeneration plant was to provide Bucksport Energy, LLC with essential electrical service. The excess steam supplied nearby International Paper with power for the paper manufacturing process. O'Connor erected the Nooter/Eriksen heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) and general electric 7000 FA combustion gas turbines. This included the ancillary skids and interconnecting piping at the 185 megawatt cogeneration facility. O'Connor also erected the inlet filter housing, associated ducted work and installed the exhaust stack. Intended as a 16 month project, O'Connor Corporation delivered the commissioned and tested facility two months ahead of schedule.
