Logan Airport, Terminal B
American Airlines offices & retail space
Under Construction
O'Connor Constructors was selected by the Massachusetts Port Authority to renovate 25,000 sq. ft. and construct a 15,000 sq. ft addition at Logan International Airport's Terminal B. The project included construction of new retail shell space, three sets of restrooms, passenger circulation areas, corridors and American Airlines offices. Work included electrical power, lighting, security systems, fire alarm, fire protection, telecommunications, plumbing, finishes, flooring, heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
The project required phased construction in various areas of Terminal B. During the project it was necessary for O'Connor to coordinate and schedule the simultaneous activities of construction crews throughout the terminal, including the highly sensitive Aircraft Operations area. While working in these sensitive areas it was essential O'Connor adhered to the strictest procedures for security and safety.
This project required the 15,000 sq. ft. of second story retail space to be built on top of the existing TSA baggage handling area. The work consisted of a steel framed enclosure clad with a metal panel skin and aluminum curtain-wall glazing system. It was necessary for O'Connor to stage and construct the second story addition from airfield side of the airport. This project was completed in late summer of 2007.
O'Connor Constructors has performed several projects at Logan Airport including the $30,000,000 Terminal C renovations, the United Airlines Red Carpet Room, and modifications to the Central Heating Plant.
