O'Connor's pre-construction team provided budgets, schedules and researching alternative products for the construction of this $30,000,000 gasification test facility in Somerset, MA. Construction completed in the spring of 2009 included a 200 foot steel and metal panel stack. When completed in the Spring of 2009 the plant will convert coal to clean-burning natural gas.

Commissioned in the Spring of 2009, the Mayflower Clean Energy Center, a first-of-a-kind gasification plant in Somerset, MA, will convert coal, petroleum coke and biomass directly into low-cost, clean, pipeline-quality natural gas, while allowing for the capture and sequestration of carbon dioxide (CO2).

O'Connor Constructors was selected by Great Point Energy, Inc. the developer of the proprietary process known as hydromethanation as construction managers for the project.

During pre-construction the O'Connor team worked with, Great Point Energy and investors providing budgets, schedules and researching alternative products for the construction of the $30,000,000 testing facility. In addition, O'Connor, pre-qualified subcontractors, managed all subcontractor bid packages and conducted detailed scope reviews.
